Lovely Runner is a South Korean TV series based on a web novel called “The Best of Tomorrow” by Kimbbang. However, the live-action version differs quite a bit from the original story.
For instance, there’s a mysterious guy who frightens and haunts Im Sol in the show. His identity becomes clearer towards the end of episode six, sparking numerous theories from viewers. So, who exactly is this mysterious man?
1. The Mysterious Man in Lovely Runner is a Taxi Driver
Unlike the webtoon, in the series, Im Sol is paralyzed and will need a wheelchair in the future. This significant change introduces a new character, a mysterious taxi driver.
His presence starts becoming noticeable when taxis repeatedly pass by the Juyang area, where Im Sol falls asleep on the bus’s last stop. Additionally, the production team often focuses on his keychain with rattles.
2. The Taxi Driver Causes Im Sol’s Paralysis
In a flashback, it’s revealed that the taxi driver is the reason behind Im Sol’s paralysis. Im Sol remembers briefly, indicating that September 1 was the day of the incident that left him unable to walk.
Im Sol identifies the mysterious man by the distinct sound of his keychain. There’s a high chance that this mysterious man is the serial killer in Juyang, whom Tae Sung’s father is searching for. Additionally, there’s a theory that this taxi driver was also near the location where Ryu Seon Jae drowned.
3. Portrayed by Actor Heo Hyung Kyu
The mysterious man is portrayed by Heo Hyung Kyu. If you recognize his face, this actor previously caught attention for his role as a villain in the drama My Happy Ending.
However, even by the sixth episode, the character’s name played by Heo Hyung Kyu remains unknown. The audience still refers to him as the mysterious taxi driver.
Are you eagerly anticipating the next episode to uncover more about this taxi driver character?
