The drama Blood Free depicts various challenges in Yun Ja Yu’s (Han Hyo Joo) business. He is the founder and CEO of BF company, which has successfully developed lab-grown meat. BF’s immense profits have made Yun Ja Yu a target for adversaries.
Not only external threats, but also colleagues within BF pose a danger to Yun Ja Yu. For instance, in the hacking incident from the previous episodes, it was revealed that the perpetrators were within BF itself. The culprit was swiftly apprehended in the following episodes. 1. The culprit behind the BF laboratory hack, masquerading as the CitizenX group, was Kim Sin Gu (Kim Sang Ho), a retiring professor at BF.
2. Planning to flee the country after retirement to avoid detection, Kim Sin Gu was exposed by his colleague at BF, Hong Sae Ip (Yi Seo).
3. After injuring Hong Sae Ip, Kim Sin Gu managed to leave the country before being apprehended by Yun Ja Yu. However, his whereabouts were traced.
4. Woo Chae Woon (Ju Ji Hoon) located Kim Sin Gu through a labor broker, seemingly attempting to allay Yun Ja Yu’s suspicions.
5. Yun Ja Yu suspects that Lee Mun Gyu (Jeon Kuk Hwan) is involved and aims to spy on BF for the former president, whom Yun Ja Yu despises.
6. Woo Chae Woon manages to dispel suspicions and get closer to Yun Ja Yu. The BF CEO prefers to handle issues at home.
7. Kim Sin Gu’s death becomes a public issue. He had previously reported BF’s cultivation fluid as contaminated.
8. Consequently, Yun Ja Yu is suspected of poisoning him, despite their strained relationship.
9. Kim Sin Gu believes Yun Ja Yu killed his wife by using her as a test subject in their research.
10. Kim Sin Gu’s death was a ploy to trap Yun Ja Yu since he didn’t immediately accept Seonu Geun’s (Eom Hyo Seop) offer.
11. Seonu Geun, Lee Mun Gyu’s former son-in-law and Seonu Jae’s (Lee Hee Jun) father, intends to buy BF for 32 trillion.
12. Despite hesitation, Yun Ja Yu rejects the offer. Seonu Jae sends people to attack him, injuring Woo Chae Woon.
