The Korean TV show Chief Detective 1958 (2024) brings a new mystery in each episode. In episode 6, an elderly Park Yeong Han encounters someone who resembles his younger self.
This person is called Jun Seo. But who exactly is Park Jun Seo? And why does he look like a young Park Yeong Han?
1. Park Jun Seo is Park Yeong Han’s grandson
In the show Chief Detective 1958, Park Jun Seo (played by Lee Ji Hoon) is revealed to be the grandson of Park Yeong Han (played by Lee Je Hoon). This detail is introduced in the first episode.
During an encounter at the Jongnam Police Station, a young man, later identified as Park Jun Seo, warmly greets the older Park Yeong Han.
2. He works as a police officer at Jongnam Police Station, following his grandfather’s footsteps
Park Jun Seo, like his grandfather, serves as a detective at Jongnam Police Station. As Park Yeong Han was a respected figure there, many officers salute him whenever they meet.
Until episode 6, little was known about Park Yeong Han and Lee Hye Ju’s (played by Seo Eun Soo) child. Even an elderly Lee Hye Ju hadn’t appeared on screen by then. Viewers were only shown a photograph of a young Park Yeong Han with his colleagues.
3. Park Jun Seo is also portrayed by Lee Je Hoon
In Chief Detective 1958, Lee Je Hoon takes on the roles of both Park Yeong Han and Park Jun Seo. Park Jun Seo’s cheerful and amiable demeanor mirrors that of his grandfather in his youth.
In episode 6, Park Jun Seo is depicted complaining to his grandfather in a playful manner, seeking advice on catching elusive criminals.
Ultimately, it’s unveiled that the character portrayed by Lee Je Hoon, Park Jun Seo, is indeed the grandson of Park Yeong Han. Not only do they share looks, but their personalities also bear a striking resemblance.
