“The Escape of the Seven” returns with its second season, airing every Friday and Saturday on Viu. This season offers a more intricate storyline for viewers to enjoy.
A new enigmatic character named Medusa emerges, aiding Min Do Hyuk in seeking revenge. But who exactly is Medusa? Let’s delve into the explanation!
Warning: This article contains spoilers!
1. Unmasking the Mystery Figure
In the opening scene of the first episode, viewers are introduced to a cloaked figure browsing through photos of Bang Da Mi (played by Jung Lael). It’s later revealed that this figure is Geum La Hui (portrayed by Hwang Jung Eum).
Geum La Hui sought refuge in this hideout after undergoing leg amputation due to a bear trap injury. Refusing surgery, he now relies on a prosthetic leg.
Upon discovering that Matthew Lee or Sim Jun Seok (alias K) was behind his daughter’s murder, Geum La Hui resolves to seek vengeance, setting the stage for action starting from episode 3.
2. The Revelation of Medusa’s Identity:
In episode 3, Min Do Hyuk encounters Medusa, who disrupts his call with Kang Ki Tak. Shockingly, Medusa is revealed to be none other than Geum La Hui, using a voice-altering device.
Thus, Medusa and the mysterious hooded figure are one and the same. Geum La Hui covertly aids Min Do Hyuk’s revenge by providing crucial information to save No Han Na.
However, Min Do Hyuk’s trust in Medusa wavers when he suspects their involvement in the death of Yoon Ji Sook, Han Mo Ne’s mother. Yet, episode 4 concludes with the revelation that Geum La Hui, alias Medusa, seeks a new body for Han Mo Ne’s mother.
3. Connecting the Dots: Medusa, Save, and Hwang Chan Sung
Hwang Chan Sung, the owner of Save company, enters the fray as a new character with his own vendetta against K, who was once Han Mo Ne’s lover.
Geum La Hui, disguised as Medusa, employs Save’s server to assist Min Do Hyuk. Could this indicate a future collaboration between Geum La Hui, Min Do Hyuk, and Hwang Chan Sung? Or will unforeseen plot twists alter their paths?
As “The Escape of the Seven 2” unfolds, viewers are left to ponder the intricate web of alliances and betrayals woven by these intriguing characters.
