A Heartfelt Exploration of Friendship and Romance

Fujiwara Hana and Katayama Mizuki have been inseparable best friends since their elementary school days. When Hana’s cheating boyfriend breaks her heart, the two friends decide to take a trip together. Their journey leads them to a hot spring inn, where they encounter two intriguing guys: Narita Yosuke and Ichinose Ayumu.

The drama unfolds as Hana grapples with her tendency to avoid speaking up for herself. Yosuke, straightforward and unapologetic, scolds her for this behavior. His words trigger deep reflection in Hana, making her realize that she often prioritizes others’ feelings over her own. With newfound self-awareness, she embarks on a journey of personal growth and transformation.

“We Are Too Clumsy About Love” delves into themes of friendship, jealousy, betrayal, and conflict. Mizuki, Hana’s best friend, yearns for love despite never having experienced a serious romantic relationship. Yosuke, on the other hand, faces criticism for his blunt communication style. Ayumu, caught between kindness and frivolity, adds complexity to the mix. And when Ayumu’s “younger brother” Kanata enters the scene, chaos ensues.

The drama beautifully captures the nuances of love and identity. As the characters navigate their emotions, viewers witness their struggles, quarrels, and moments of vulnerability. The concise format of this miniseries ensures that the story remains engaging without feeling dragged out.

Here are some highlights of “We Are Too Clumsy About Love”:

  1. Straightforward Male Characters: Yosuke and Ayumu stand out for their candidness. There’s no beating around the bush—just honest communication. Their refreshing approach adds depth to the narrative.
  2. Compact Storytelling: Despite covering familiar ground, the drama’s brevity prevents it from becoming monotonous. Each episode packs emotional punches, keeping viewers invested.
  3. Non-Annoying Female Characters: Thankfully, the female characters, especially the main protagonist, avoid the typical naive and annoying tropes. Their growth feels genuine and relatable.

In summary, “We Are Too Clumsy About Love” may not break new ground, but it offers a pleasant and lighthearted romance. It’s a perfect choice for those seeking a quick dose of heartfelt storytelling. While the acting isn’t exceptional, the straightforward male characters and relatable female leads make it worth watching.
