This heartwarming series, which aired from September 1 to December 27, 2020, on KakaoTV, offers a refreshing take on high school romance. Here’s my take on it:

Review: “Love Revolution”

Gong Ju Young (played by Park Ji Hoon) is a 17-year-old high school student who believes he has found love when he falls head over heels for Wang Ja Rim (Lee Ruby) at first sight. However, winning her heart won’t be a walk in the park. Wang Ja Rim has a reputation for being cold and aloof, seemingly unimpressed by Gong Ju Young’s enthusiastic displays of affection. But our determined protagonist won’t be easily discouraged. Persistence becomes his mantra as he tries to break through Wang Ja Rim’s icy exterior.

What Sets It Apart:

“Love Revolution” may seem like your typical romantic comedy, but it manages to stand out in several ways:

  • Unique Character Dynamics: The chemistry between Gong Ju Young and Wang Ja Rim is both endearing and relatable. Their interactions feel genuine, and their emotional journey unfolds in a way that keeps viewers invested.
  • Friendship Matters: Gong Ju Young’s best friend, Lee Kyung Woo (Young Hoon of The Boyz), adds depth to the story. His loyalty and support play a crucial role in Gong Ju Young’s pursuit of Wang Ja Rim.
  • Secondary Characters: The drama introduces a colorful cast of friends and classmates, including the popular Oh Ah Ram (Dayoung of WJSN). Each character contributes to the overall charm of the series.

Production Quality:

For a web series, the production quality of “Love Revolution” is commendable. The visuals, soundtrack, and overall execution create an engaging viewing experience. The ending hints at a potential second season, leaving viewers eager for more.

Humor and Heart:

While the humor in “Love Revolution” won’t resonate with everyone, it adds a lighthearted touch to the romance. Gong Ju Young’s quirky charms and Wang Ja Rim’s guarded demeanor create a delightful contrast.

In Conclusion:

“Love Revolution” captures the essence of youthful love, friendship, and persistence. It’s a feel-good drama that reminds us that sometimes, even the coldest hearts can thaw. Whether you’re a fan of K-dramas or simply looking for a heartwarming story, this series is worth a watch.

In summary, “Love Revolution” is a delightful blend of romance, friendship, and humor. If you’re in the mood for a charming high school drama, give it a try!
