A Flavorful Blend of Romance, Business, and Music

“Soot Rak Sap E-Lee” takes viewers on a delightful journey through the world of fermented fish, family dynamics, and unexpected love. Set against the backdrop of the coronavirus crisis, this drama serves up a spicy mix of comedy, bickering, and infectious melodies.

Plot Summary:

Nam Phon’s factory faces closure due to the pandemic, leaving him in a desperate situation. To make matters worse, one of his former employees turns into a fierce competitor, using a stolen fermented fish formula to launch a rival business. Enter Kirin, Nam Phon’s son, who rushes back from abroad to save the family company. His mission? To transform “Pla-Ra Juicy Spice” into Thailand’s top brand.

Characters:

  • Nam Phon (Tongtong Kitsakorn Kanogtorn): The determined factory owner, struggling to keep his business afloat.
  • Ploysai (Mook Napapach Thitakawin): A hardworking young woman with a million YouTube views, who unexpectedly becomes Kirin’s ally.
  • Kaewta (Kaothip Tidadin): The sassy female lead, adding sparks to the drama.
  • Anawat (Tok Suppakorn Kitsuwan): A supporting character with his own secrets.

What Works:

  1. Infectious Music: The drama’s soundtrack, reminiscent of Tongtong’s previous show, keeps viewers grooving. Expect catchy tunes and memorable melodies.
  2. Business Battles: The struggle to save the factory provides an engaging backdrop. Kirin’s determination to turn the tables adds tension and excitement.
  3. Family Bonds: Amid the chaos, the drama explores family relationships, loyalty, and sacrifice.
  4. Chemistry: Despite the age gap (Kirin is older), the pairing of Kirin and Ploysai brings warmth and chemistry to the screen.

What Could Be Better:

  1. Episode Length: Brace yourself for a marathon—45 episodes! Some scenes feel repetitive, especially the screaming and fighting.
  2. Age Gap: While Kirin’s shirtless scenes are appreciated, the romance with a 16-year-old Ploysai raises eyebrows. Can we get a proper kiss scene, please?

Final Verdict:

“Soot Rak Sap E-Lee” is addictive, fun, and perfect for fans of business dramas with a musical twist. If you enjoyed Tongtong’s previous work, you’ll find similarities here. Despite its flaws, the drama’s heartwarming moments and quirky characters make it worth a watch.

In summary, “Soot Rak Sap E-Lee” blends humor, romance, and business savvy into a spicy concoction that leaves viewers craving more. Whether you’re a fan of fermented fish or heartwarming stories, this drama delivers a flavorful experience.
