Synopsis
Qi Yue comes from a well-off family and has no ambition at all. She spends her time doing absolutely nothing. One day, her 25-year-old son, Qi Shuo, comes from the future and tells Qi Yue that she will have a bad marriage and a miserable life due to her "death-defying ability." To avoid this regret from happening, Qi Shuo travels back to help her rewrite her fate. When Qi Yue learns that her "future husband" is Lu Xiao, the school's straight-A student, she is forced to make an effort to improve herself in the face of the difference. Qi Shuo develops a "transformation plan," and under the supervision of her own son and her own effort, Qi Yue is admitted to the same university as Lu Xiao. There, she goes head on with Lu Xiao. Qi Shuo takes the initiative to enter Lu Xiao's inner circle and becomes a helper to his mother. With cheekiness and gimmicks, she finally captures the heart of Lu Xiao

A Heartwarming Tale of Time and Love
In the vast landscape of dramas, some stories linger long after the final credits roll. “I Belonged to Your World” is one such tale—a poignant blend of laughter, tears, and unconditional love that leaves an indelible mark on the heart.
The premise is simple yet captivating: Twenty-five-year-old Qi Shuo travels back in time to alter the course of his mother’s life. Qi Yue, his teenage mother, is a carefree soul with no grand ambitions. But her life takes an unexpected turn when she accepts her adult son’s peculiar assertions—chief among them being that she will have a bad marriage and a miserable existence.
The heart of the drama lies in the unconventional, comedic, and touching dynamics between Qi Shuo and Qi Yue. Their mother-son relationship dances between cajoling, threatening, and genuine affection. Liu Yitong’s portrayal of the quirky, intelligent, and selfless Qi Shuo is nothing short of stunning. His impish joy and unadulterated love for Qi Yue and Lu Xiao—the gifted physics student he aims to matchmake with—are both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
Wu Difei, as Lu Xiao, adds depth to the archetypal character. His silent observations and quiet support resonate, making him more than just the male lead. The chemistry between Qi Yandi (Qi Yue) and Liu Yitong is electric, their goofy antics leaving viewers in stitches. As the drama unfolds, we witness joy, obliviousness, and shattered illusions—all beautifully portrayed.
The drama isn’t flawless. Choppy editing and minor plot holes occasionally distract, but they pale in comparison to the emotional journey. The inevitable ending, like the white truck of doom, looms, yet it still manages to shake us. Despite censorship-induced cuts, the core message remains intact: “The past is already gone, the future is not yet here.”
“I Belonged to Your World” is a rollercoaster of emotions—a blend of laughter and tears that transcends imperfections. It’s a story that lingers, reminding us that love, even across time, knows no bounds. I rate it a heartwarming and funny 8.0/10.0.
