Veekij, a stoic young CEO, suffers from prosopagnosia, commonly known as “face blindness.” This condition prevents him from distinguishing people’s faces. In an effort to connect with the world, he hires an assistant named Mirin. The story revolves around their relationship and whether Veekij’s condition can be cured.

Review:

Faceless Love is a loose adaptation of the Japanese drama Rich Man, Poor Woman. While it diverges from the original, it manages to create its own unique charm. Here are some thoughts on the series:

  1. Plot and Adaptation: The drama simplifies the business drama, making it more relatable for Thai audiences. Instead of focusing solely on corporate battles, it emphasizes family business succession. The changes to the story keep viewers engaged, even if they’ve seen the original version. The romance aspect is also more pronounced, adding depth to the characters’ relationships.
  2. Characters:
    • Veekij (Vee): The male lead, portrayed by Dew Jirawat Sutivanichsak, suffers from face blindness. His stoic demeanor contrasts with his vulnerability, making him an intriguing character.
    • Mirin: Played by Supassara Thanachart, Mirin takes on the role of Veekij’s assistant. Her sweet demeanor and determination make her endearing.
    • ChanonLuke Ishikawa Plowden portrays Chanon, another male lead. His acting has its moments, but the character’s development is inconsistent.
    • TanyaWanwimol Jaenasavamethee plays Thanya, Chanon’s friend and business partner. Her role adds complexity to the story.
  3. Chemistry and Entertainment: Despite the flaws, the chemistry between the leads keeps viewers hooked. The first few episodes fall into the “so bad it’s good” category, but the later episodes lose their charm. The drama balances humor, romance, and intrigue, making it entertaining overall.
  4. Forgiveness and Redemption: The forgiveness arcs are both satisfying and frustrating. Some characters are forgiven too easily, while others face consequences for their actions. The balance between redemption and accountability could have been better.
  5. Cheesy Moments: The drama doesn’t shy away from cheesy scenes, especially towards the end. If you’re a fan of melodrama, you’ll find plenty of it here.

In conclusion, Faceless Love is imperfect but oddly entertaining. If you’re looking for a light-hearted romance with unique twists, give it a watch. Just be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions and a generous serving of cheese.
