Ever Night has its flaws, but it ended up being one of my favorites. The drama stands out with its beautiful cinematography, impressive action scenes, and exceptional fight choreography. The CGI is solid overall, enhancing the visual experience.

The main characters are intriguing and likable, yet realistically flawed. Ning Que, the protagonist, is more antihero than hero, shaped by childhood trauma and the struggle for survival. His relationship with Sang Sang, his loyal “maid,” is complex due to their unusual circumstances. Sang Sang’s gentle demeanor contrasts with her practicality and anxieties about finances. Their dynamic adds depth to the story.

The drama weaves a captivating and confusing narrative, combining complex plotlines with deep character development. The action sequences are mesmerizing, especially the portrayal of martial arts. The visual effects used to showcase martial arts abilities are remarkable.

While Ever Night has its imperfections, including occasional emotional missteps, it remains engaging. Ning Que’s guarded nature and Sang Sang’s unwavering support create a compelling bond. The exploration of power dynamics, loyalty, and identity keeps viewers invested.

In summary, Ever Night offers a mix of action, romance, and fantasy, making it a worthwhile watch for fans of historical dramas. Despite its flaws, the captivating storyline and well-executed fight scenes make it stand out.
