Editor's Review
“En of Love: TOSSARA” is part of the “En of Love” franchise, which features three separate BL love stories set in the same fictional universe. Unfortunately, “TOSSARA” falls short compared to its counterparts. Let’s dive into the details.
Plot Summary: Gun, a popular medical student, has secretly admired Bar, an engineering student, since high school. When Gun finds Bar’s lost item at the swimming pool, he seizes the opportunity to confess his feelings. His bold approach catches Bar off guard, but Gun persists in pursuing him. As they spend time together, Bar gradually warms up to Gun, despite the interference of Mark, another admirer.
The Good:
- Cute and Sweet: “TOSSARA” delivers moments of sweetness and cuteness, especially as Gun and Bar start easing up around each other.
- University Setting: The drama captures the university atmosphere well, with relatable scenes and interactions.
The Bad:
- Terrible Story: The plot is beyond terrible. The romance lacks depth, and the interactions feel forced.
- Dull Characters: Gun and Bar lack complexity, making it hard to invest in their relationship.
- Uncomfortable Interactions: Some scenes are cringeworthy, and the courtship feels awkward.
The Ugly:
- Nonexistent Chemistry: Gun’s aggressive pursuit doesn’t translate into genuine chemistry between the characters.
- Low-Budget Feel: The series gives off a low-budget, fan-made vibe, cherry-picking elements from other popular BLs without adding anything new.
In summary, “En of Love: TOSSARA” is a clumsy attempt at BL. While it has its cute moments, the overall execution falls flat. If you’re looking for a more satisfying BL experience, consider exploring other titles within the genre.
