The drama begins dramatically with the assassination of a Crown Prince and his consort by a ruthless villain. But here’s where it gets intriguing: the tragedy was concocted by a web novelist named Hua Qing Ge, who wanted to make her novel memorable by killing off the main characters. However, her idea backfires when readers are left enraged instead of upset, criticizing her for writing a plothole-ridden story lacking character logic.
Hua Qing Ge adamantly refuses to change the ending, even after being threatened. Unexpectedly, she is sucked into her fictional world as a self-titled “canon-fodder” character, destined to be killed on her wedding night by the villain Ji Chu. With her unique position as the creator of this world, she escapes with the help of Ji Yun, the Crown Prince she had previously killed off in her novel.
