Editor's Review
A Spellbinding Blend of Romance and Fantasy
Disclaimer: This is just my opinion, and I encourage respectful discussions.
“Destined With You” is one of those dramas that demands patience. Initially, it was challenging to find motivation to continue watching, but around episode 7, the plot started to pick up. The twists, mysteries, and thriller elements kept me engaged. The backstory of Mu Jin and Aeng Cho, though ill-fated, was poignant. Mu Jin’s sacrifice to ensure Aeng Cho’s survival through the curse was heart-wrenching. The antagonist, Na Jung-Beom, added frustration and tension.
Rowoon’s portrayal as the serious, brooding lawyer was captivating. His transformation from slicked-back hair to a cute puppy-like appearance showcased his range. Bo Ah’s expressive eyes conveyed emotions effortlessly. Their chemistry in episodes 13-15, especially that kiss, was off the charts! No wonder the shaman lady predicted a future conception.
The drama neatly wrapped up its ending, although more episodes would have allowed deeper exploration of Hong Jo’s shaman powers and lineage. The side characters, like Mr. Gong and Ms. Ma, added depth. Their on-and-off relationship eventually led to a heartwarming marriage.
In summary, “Destined With You” combines folklore, romance, and fantasy effectively. While it may test your patience initially, stick with it—the payoff is worth it. And yes, Rowoon’s gorgeousness is an added bonus!
