A Heartwarming Tale of Love and Dreams
“Count Your Lucky Stars” is a delightful romantic drama that weaves together love, family, and dreams. Set in the fashion world, it introduces us to Lu Xingcheng, a legendary figure known for his impeccable taste and unparalleled success. On the flip side is Tong Xiao You, an aspiring fashion designer perpetually plagued by misfortune.
1. Chemistry and Acting: At first, I didn’t expect the casting of Jerry Yan and Shen Yue to click, but their chemistry surprised me. Shen Yue, with her youthful beauty, delivers a commendable performance. Jerry Yan, as always, is sensational. Despite the age gap, their professional acting brings the characters Lu Xingcheng and Tong Xiaoyou to life. Their slow-burning romance is a highlight.
2. Plot and Pacing: The plot is somewhat cliché, but it could have been presented better. Unfortunately, some parts are dragged out to fill the 34-episode duration. A tighter, 24-episode drama would have been more effective. However, the romance element is enjoyable, and the chemistry between the leads isn’t bad at all.
3. Character Development: Tong Xiaoyou, portrayed by Shen Yue, is a polished version of her previous characters. Jerry Yan’s Lu Xingcheng starts off slow, but his emotional scenes are powerful. The script, especially the interactions between the two brothers, stands out.
4. Dubbing and Production: While dubbing is noticeable, you eventually get used to it. The drama’s production could have been smoother, but it doesn’t overshadow the engaging storyline.
5. Overall Impression: “Count Your Lucky Stars” is not as bad as some critics claim, nor as flawless as die-hard fans suggest. It’s a heartwarming drama that balances romance, family dynamics, and personal growth. If you appreciate slow-burn relationships and can overlook minor flaws, give this drama a chance.
In summary, “Count Your Lucky Stars” offers a mix of fashion, love, and acceptance. Despite its imperfections, it leaves you hoping for a sequel.
