A Disastrous Misstep in the Thriller-Mystery Genre

“A Superior Day” is a drama that should have never seen the light of day. As a viewer, I intended to write a balanced review, highlighting both the positive and negative aspects of the series. However, after watching all eight episodes, I realized there was not a single redeeming quality to discuss.

  1. Plot Chaos and Logic Deficiency: Imagine a chessboard where players move their pawns without adhering to any rules. That’s precisely how this series unfolds. The writer manipulates characters—equally poorly written—without any regard for logic. The thriller-mystery genre demands coherence, but “A Superior Day” is riddled with plot holes. These aren’t the forgivable kind; they insult the viewer’s intelligence.
  2. Mediocre Acting and Forgettable OST: The actors’ performances were mediocre at best. It’s hard to determine whether their lackluster delivery stemmed from their abilities or the poorly written characters they portrayed. Even the OST failed to make an impact, feeling out of place and forgettable.
  3. A Nuclear Disaster of a Drama: Every aspect of “A Superior Day” is subpar. The writing, cinematography, character development, and direction—all fall flat. Not even the presence of talented actors like Jin Goo and Ha Do Gwon could salvage this sinking ship.

In summary, this drama is beyond horrible. It’s an entire nuclear disaster. If you haven’t started watching, save yourself the agony. Drop it immediately. There’s no redemption here. The creators should have reconsidered its existence from the outset.
