Makeup doesn’t have to be time-consuming to be effective. (G)I-DLE’s makeup artist, Haemin, shares her expert tips for achieving a polished look in just 10 minutes. Whether you’re a busy commuter or just prefer a quick routine, these steps can help you look your best with minimal effort.

Steps for a Quick Makeup Routine

1. Moisturizing Air Cushion or BB Cream + Concealer:
Start with a highly moisturizing air cushion or BB cream for a smooth and even base. Use a powder puff to apply it evenly across your face, patting gently to blend it in. This method ensures a natural, flawless finish without being heavy. Follow up with a concealer applied to areas needing extra coverage, such as under the eyes or blemishes. This step gives an immediate smoothing effect, making the skin look soft-focused and polished.

2. Blush Application:
Using the same powder puff, apply blush on a large area under your eyes and across the nose bridge. Since there’s still some remaining product from the base makeup on the puff, the blush will blend more naturally. This technique not only adds a youthful glow but also makes the base makeup appear more vibrant and cohesive. It gives a fresh, lively look, making your complexion look healthier and more awake.

3. Setting Powder:
To set your makeup, switch to a clean powder puff or powder brush and apply a setting powder. Haemin recommends a powder with a slight shimmer or high moisturizing properties. Gently press the powder into oil-prone areas like the nose and nasolabial folds to control shine and add a bright, lifted look. For those who prefer a matte finish, a skin-colored powder can be applied lightly over the entire face, ensuring a smooth, flawless appearance.

4. Eyebrow Pencil:
Define your eyebrows quickly by using an eyebrow pencil a shade lighter than your hair color. Outline the shape of your brows and fill in any sparse areas. Finish by brushing through with an eyebrow brush to blend the color and create a natural look. If you prefer more defined brows, apply a clear brow gel to keep the hairs in place.

5. Single Color Eyeshadow:
For a quick and effective eye look, use a single color eyeshadow. Start with a matte light-colored eyeshadow as a base, covering the entire eyelid and lower lid with a loose eyeshadow blending brush. This creates a basic contour and reduces puffiness, making your eyes appear brighter and more awake. This simple step adds depth and dimension to your eyes with minimal effort.

6. Drawing Lying Silkworm:
To make your eyes look larger and more defined, use a mid-tone eyeshadow to draw a “lying silkworm” (a small area of shading under the eye). Use a small detail brush to gently apply the shadow in the eye fold and extend it to the lower eyelid. This technique can enhance your eyes without the need for additional eyeliner or mascara, giving a subtle yet impactful look.

Haemin’s approach balances efficiency with beauty, ensuring you can look polished without spending hours in front of the mirror. These techniques are perfect for anyone looking to enhance their natural beauty quickly and effectively. The emphasis on moisturizing products and simple, yet effective steps makes this routine a game-changer for those early mornings or last-minute plans.
