V, a member of the global sensation BTS, has started his mandatory military service in South Korea. He is now serving as a military police officer in the ROK II Corps, also known as the “Double Dragons” unit, in Chuncheon’s 2nd Infantry Division. This is one of the most prestigious and challenging assignments in the Korean army.
To join this unit, V had to go through a tough selection process that involved screening his documents, interviewing him, and testing his physical fitness. He also had to complete five weeks of basic training and three weeks of advanced training at the Army’s Comprehensive Administration School. He was among the top five trainees out of 200 who earned the elite status.
V moved to his new unit on February 8, 2024. He was seen wearing a military uniform and a beret, looking confident and charismatic. He will be part of the special task force that works under the direct command of the division. He will be responsible for maintaining order and security in the military area.
V is not the only BTS member who is serving in the military. All seven members have enlisted to fulfill their duty as Korean citizens. Jin and J-Hope are working as instructors, Suga is doing public service work, and RM is in the 15th Infantry Division. Jimin and Jungkook will join the 5th Infantry Division soon.
