Gong Yoo and Song Hye Kyo may soon appear in a Korean drama together. On Wednesday (24/4/2024), News1 reported that Gong Yoo has been offered the main role in the latest drama by screenwriter No Hee Kyung and director Lee Yoon Jung. Earlier, Song Hye Kyo had already been offered a role in this drama. The actress is said to be interested in accepting the offer.
In response, SOOP Management, Gong Yoo’s agency, also commented on the same day.
“It’s true that Gong Yoo has received an offer for No Hee Kyung’s new project. He is currently reviewing it,” their statement said.
According to News1 reports, Noh Hee Kyung’s new project is a modern historical drama about key figures in the broadcasting world. The drama will depict the upheaval that led to the creation of the South Korean entertainment industry.
Previously, screenwriter Noh Hee Kyung has created some of the most popular Korean dramas, such as Our Blues (2022) and It’s Okay, That’s Love (2021). Song Hye Kyo has also starred in dramas like Worlds Within (2008) and That Winter, The Wind Blows (2013), which was co-written by Noh Hee Kyung.
Meanwhile, director Lee Yoon Jung is known for works like Coffee Prince (2007) and Cheese in the Trap (2016). Let’s await their confirmation!
