Contrasts Between Characters and Actors in “Wedding Impossible” Drama

The drama “Wedding Impossible” offers an entertaining romantic comedy experience. Adapted from a web novel by Song Jung Won, which was then illustrated in webtoon format, it has gained attention for its unique storytelling.

Moon Sang Min, Jun Jong Seo, and Kim Do Wan, the stars of this drama, have opened up about the disparities between their characters and their original depictions. Here’s a closer look:

1. Moon Sang Min discusses the disparity in chin shape between his character and the webtoon version.

In his portrayal of Lee Ji Han, actor Moon Sang Min emphasizes the difference in chin shape compared to the webtoon rendition. According to him, Ji Han’s chin in the webtoon appeared sharper than his own.

“I’ve gone through all the original material. The distinction between Ji Han in the webtoon and in the drama is evident. In the webtoon, Ji Han sports a distinct V-shaped face. It’s quite pronounced in the illustrations. However, my chin is more oval and not as sharply defined,” explained Moon Sang Min.

Beyond the physical aspect, Sang Min also delved into the differences in Lee Ji Han’s personality between the drama and the webtoon. He describes Ji Han in the drama as more carefree and less cynical.

“In terms of personality, the webtoon version comes across as a bit more sophisticated and cynical, whereas the Ji Han I portray is more earnest and endearing. I’d characterize Ji Han as a spirited individual,” he added.

2. Jun Jong Seo acknowledges his more introverted nature compared to his character.

Unlike Moon Sang Min, Jun Jong Seo, who plays Na A Jeong, confessed to not having read the original webtoon version. Nonetheless, the actress, known for her role in “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area,” acknowledges that her portrayal of A Jeong is inclined towards introversion compared to the original depiction.

“I haven’t had the chance to read the original version. The character A Jeong in the original script is depicted as friendlier and more outgoing than myself. Given my introverted nature, I naturally imbued A Jeong with a touch of introversion. Additionally, I aimed to stay true to the character as per the script,” said the actress.

3. Kim Do Wan discovers parallels between himself and Lee Do Han’s character.

Similar to Jun Jong Seo, actor Kim Do Wan has not read the original source material for “Wedding Impossible.” In an interview, he admitted, “I haven’t read it (the original work).”

Kim Do Wan also noted that there are striking resemblances between Lee Do Han’s character in the drama and his own persona. According to the actor, Lee Do Han mainly differs in his penchant for keeping secrets.

“The names Do Han and Do Wan are quite similar, indeed. So, whenever someone calls out ‘Do Han’ on set, it feels like they’re calling me. It sounds familiar. As for personality traits, there are noticeable similarities. We both lean towards introversion and are not particularly talkative. Additionally, I have a younger brother, much like the character,” he elaborated.

The first episode of “Wedding Impossible” aired on February 26, 2024. You can catch it officially on Prime Video for an engaging viewing experience.
