Song Kang Ho shared a funny misunderstanding he had with Lee Kyu Hyung, who plays Kang Seong Min. Song noticed that Lee was always on his phone during shoots. Initially, he thought Lee was just distracted, but it turned out Lee was using his phone to access the Uncle Samsik script.
“He’s always watching his cellphone at the shooting location. So, I was like, actors shouldn’t see their cellphone often on set, unless it’s urgent,” Song Kang Ho explained.
When Song Kang Ho realized that Lee Kyu Hyung was actually referring to his digital script, he felt quite old-fashioned. Song admitted, “I felt very old-fashioned because I printed everything. I had to run to get my hard copy script and read it.”
2. Song Kang Ho’s Generous Spirit

Even though Song Kang Ho debuted 35 years ago, he is considered a rookie in the world of Korean dramas. According to Oh Seung Hoon, Song Kang Ho has a unique trait: he loves treating the staff to meals.
“This rookie treats us to meals anytime. He’s a rookie who’s great,” explained Oh Seung Hoon. An Ki Chul added, “This rookie bought all the staff Korean beef. I’ve never seen a rookie do this.”
3. Reuniting with Joo Jin Moo

Song Kang Ho was thrilled to reunite with Joo Jin Moo, one of his mentors, on the set of Uncle Samsik. Reflecting on their past, Song Kang Ho shared, “I acted with him about 30 or 35 years ago on the theater stage. He was my best mentor and taught me a lot of lessons.”

Seo Hyun Woo shared that Song Kang Ho’s presence on set was calming, even though it made other cast members nervous. Seo Hyun Woo admitted, “When I first met him, I couldn’t sleep the night before because I was so nervous.”
