False accusations can harm South Korean actors’ reputation with the public. Therefore, agencies work to defend the artist’s image by clarifying the truth behind rumors. They also take legal action against those who spread lies.
So, here are the Korean actors represented by their agencies taking strong action against internet users who defame them. Because spreading lies and baseless rumors is breaking the law and shouldn’t be taken lightly. Let’s take a look!
1. Yoo Yeon Seok
In 2023, someone from an anonymous account claimed that Yoo Yeon Seok’s father worked as a security guard at his apartment. Around 6 or 7 years ago, his father supposedly heard insulting comments from Yoo Yeon Seok and his friends. This accusation led Yoo Yeon Seok’s agency to respond. They clarified that the rumors were entirely false and harmed the artist’s reputation. Furthermore, they explained that Yoo Yeon Seok regularly greets security staff during holidays, sharing gifts with them. So, the agency hired a lawyer and prepared to take legal action.
