The drama “Wedding Impossible” serves up a classic romcom storyline that’s light-hearted and leaves you feeling happy. Na A Jung (played by Jeon Jong Seo) agrees to a contract marriage with her best friend, who happens to be gay. However, things take a turn when she develops feelings for her friend’s younger brother, Lee Ji Han (played by Moon Sang Min).
This drama, adapted from a webtoon of the same name, wraps up with a satisfying ending on Tuesday (2/4/2024). But even with the conclusion, there are several lingering questions that need answers. Here are five of them.
Warning: This article contains spoilers.
1. Who will inherit the LJ Group?
One of the central conflicts in the drama revolves around the struggle for inheritance within the LJ Group. Lee Ji Han desires his older brother, Lee Do Han (played by Kim Do Wan), to inherit the company. However, their two older siblings, Choi Min Woong (played by Hong In) and Choi Seung A (played by Park Ah In), have their own aspirations for the position.
Until the very end, it remains unclear who will ultimately succeed Hyun Dae Ho (played by Kwon Hae Hyo) as the Chairman of the LJ Group. With Choi Min Woong’s incompetence, Lee Do Han and Choi Seung A withdrawing from the competition, and Lee Ji Han focusing on his own business, the question of succession remains unanswered.
2. Why did Hyun Dae Ho insist on Lee Do Han becoming the heir?
Hyun Dae Ho’s decision to designate Lee Do Han as the heir sparks conflict among his grandchildren. Despite Lee Do Han’s repeated refusals of the position, Hyun Dae Ho persists.
As the story unfolds, it’s revealed that Hyun Dae Ho has long been aware of Lee Do Han’s sexual orientation. This knowledge may explain why Lee Do Han agreed to a contract marriage to conceal his secret. However, it’s unclear why Hyun Dae Ho was so adamant about Lee Do Han inheriting the company, especially when Lee Ji Han was more competent.
3. Where is the grave of Lee Do Han and Lee Ji Han’s father?
During the tragic incident that claimed the life of Hyun Dae Ho’s daughter, there was another victim: the father of Lee Ji Han and Lee Do Han. While Hyun Dae Ho managed to save his grandson, the fate of the two individuals in the car remains unknown.
Throughout the series, we see Lee Ji Han and Lee Do Han visiting their mother’s grave, but there’s no mention of their father’s resting place. This raises the question: where is the late father of these brothers buried?
4. What business venture did Lee Ji Han and Eun Taek embark on?
In the final episode, Lee Ji Han decides to leave his grandfather’s company, prompting his loyal assistant, Eun Taek (played by Min Jin Woong), to resign as well. The pair ventures into a new business together, but the specifics of their endeavor remain undisclosed.
Despite the passage of a year, the nature and progress of their business venture are left unexplained.
5. What is the secret between Na A Jung’s two friends?
In episode 12, Lee Ji Han attempts to reconcile with Na A Jung, only to be confronted by her two best friends, Yang Ji Ae (played by Song Sang Eun) and Yoo Jong Hee (played by Kang Na Eon). They cryptically mention that Na A Jung already has a boyfriend, hinting at a secret.
While their words initially seem dubious, Na A Jung later suggests that her friends are aware of a genuine secret. However, the nature of this secret is never revealed by the end of the series.
Although these unanswered questions may leave viewers wanting more, they don’t detract from the overall enjoyment of “Wedding Impossible.” With its unexpected twists and engaging cameos, the finale remains an entertaining watch. Have you seen the ending of this drama? What are your thoughts?
