Big business stories aren’t just about the main figures. In early 2024, many people were captivated by the youngest children of conglomerate families. One standout is Kang Uiju (played by Choi Hee Jin), the daughter of the Kangoh Group chairman, in the drama “The Impossible Heir”.
She draws attention even though she doesn’t have as many lines as other characters. Yet, her presence is eagerly anticipated and always steals the spotlight.
Alongside Kang Uiju, there are two other youngest daughters from wealthy families who caught the audience’s eye at the start of the year. Curious to know more?
1. Yoo Hee Yeon, “Marry My Husband”
Yoo Hee Yeon (portrayed by Choi Gyuri) works as an intern in the marketing office of U&K Food in “Marry My Husband”. She’s the grandson of the company owner, but keeps her identity hidden, living a regular life without special treatment.
What’s interesting is that Yoo Hee Yeon doesn’t fit the typical conglomerate mold. She’s a hardworking employee with a big appetite who often gets hungry easily, even packing leftovers in her bag.
When asked about her grandfather’s job, she humbly replies that he merely runs a farm and sells bean sprouts. Her true identity is revealed when Park Min Hwan (played by Lee Yi Kyung) discovers the list of U&K Food shareholders.
2. Kang Uiju, “The Impossible Heir”
Kang Uiju (portrayed by Choi Hee Jin) is the youngest child in the Kangoh Group. She’s known for her strong, straightforward demeanor and dislike of small talk. When her family disregards her father’s illegitimate child, Kang Inha (played by Lee Jun Young), Uiju boldly expresses her support in front of her parents and two older siblings.
Unlike her brothers, Uiju isn’t driven by power. She even turns down an arranged marriage planned by her mother to advance the family’s business. Instead, Uiju chooses to pursue her first love, Han Tae Oh, an ordinary man who was her high school tutor. Despite numerous rejections, she continues to express her love for him, even if it ends in tears.
3. Hong Beom Ja, “Queen of Tears”
Hong Beom Ja (portrayed by Kim Jung Nan) is the only daughter of the Queens Group chairman. She possesses a keen sense for detecting deceitful people around her. However, her impulsive actions land her in and out of prison, tarnishing her reputation and eroding trust from her family.
Despite her honesty, Beom Ja’s actions are often misunderstood. For instance, she boldly confronts her father’s girlfriend, knowing the woman has caused turmoil within the family. Although initially disbelieved, the truth eventually comes to light. Unfortunately, it’s too late for her family, as they face bankruptcy.
While there are many supporting characters with similar traits in Korean dramas of 2024, these three actresses stand out. They not only gained popularity but also received praise for their performances, earning positive feedback from viewers. So, among these three youngest heirs, who’s your favorite?
